The postures and movements of belly dancing have a long and interesting history.  Anthropologists have suggested that the dance was a form of ritual celebration of fertility from the time of the Upper Palaeolithic age, from around 30,000 BC.

Belly dance has journeyed to every continent on the planet and been kept alive through both original cultural migrants and keen non-ethnic enthusiasts. Belly dancing has always fascinated both East and West.
